The rule that applies
- For monthly-paid workers: 15 days' pay for each of the first 5 years.
- One month (30 days') pay for each year after 5 years.
- Daily pay = monthly salary ÷ 26. Part years are paid pro rata.
- Total indemnity cannot exceed 1.5 years (18 months) of pay.
If you resign
If you resign: under 3 years nothing, 3 to 5 years half, 5 to 10 years two thirds, 10+ years the full indemnity. A woman resigning within 1 year of marriage gets the full amount.
